OnlyFans face verification, how the selfie check works

Two different face checks behind one name

"Face verification" can mean two separate things, and knowing which one you face helps you pass it.

A selfie match needs an ID. An age estimate usually does not, but a platform can ask for an ID if the estimate is close to the threshold.

Why onlyfans selfie verification is not working for you

The camera has to see your face clearly and steadily. These are the usual reasons it does not:

• Backlight. A bright window behind you turns your face into a silhouette. Turn around and face the light.
• Shadows and low light. One lamp from the side leaves half your face dark. Use soft light from the front.
• Filters and beauty modes. Phone camera effects change your features. Turn them off for the check.
• Glasses, hats, hair over the face. Glare on lenses and covered eyebrows confuse the comparison.
• Movement. Hold the phone at eye level, keep still, and follow prompts such as turning your head slowly.
• Camera permission. If the screen stays black, allow camera access for the site in your browser and reload.
• An old ID photo. If your document photo is many years old, a clear, well lit selfie gives the best chance.

If the check still fails after a few careful tries, stop and contact OnlyFans support through its help center. Repeated fast attempts can lock the check for a while. Our guides to OnlyFans verification not working and OnlyFans age verification not working go through the rest.

What happens to your face scan

Selfie checks are usually run by a specialist identity verification partner, and an age estimate can be designed to keep only the result, not the image. Policies differ, so read the platform's privacy policy before you start. Never upload a selfie or ID through a link you got in an unexpected message, and never use someone else's photo, a mask or edited images. That breaks every platform's rules and closes accounts. There is no legitimate way around a face check.

How OnlyEighteen uses live selfies, and why

OnlyEighteen is the creator platform for verified adults only, and a live selfie is part of every serious check on it.

• Creators pass a government ID check plus a live selfie before anything is public. The live part matters: it proves a real person is in front of the camera at that moment, not a saved photo.
• Everyone who appears in content passes their own ID and live selfie check through an invite link and signs a consent for each release, kept as 2257 records.
• Fans are age verified before the first purchase and before the first explicit post, everywhere. Where a law requires a document check, it is an ID plus a live selfie. Elsewhere, a facial age estimate is used with a safety buffer: if the estimate is under 25, an ID check follows.

The buffer is deliberate. An age estimate is good at telling a clear adult, but it is not exact, so anyone who looks close to the threshold proves their age with a document instead. It takes about a minute and is done once, then stays valid until the rule of the region asks again.

Your selfie and ID are used for verification and legal records only and are never shown to fans. Read more on the safety page, the steps on how it works, and the document side in OnlyFans ID verification.
